Guidelines for Coaches

 

Ø      I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.

 

Ø      I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and the game is for the children not the adults.

 

Ø      I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of my personal desire to win a game.

 

Ø      I will be knowledgeable in the rules of the sport I’m coaching and will help my players, assistant coaches, and parents understand these rules.

 

Ø      I will have practice sessions that are fun and challenging for all my players, while keeping within the time limit of 1 ½ hrs.

 

Ø      I will conduct myself appropriately as a coach of the Henderson PCMA in any league game or tournament, and be respectful to the officials, coaches,  players, and fans of that league or tournament.

 

Ø       I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free from inappropriate language, drugs, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at any league event.

 

Ø      I will teach techniques that discourage illegal contact, intentional dangerous play, and reduce the risk of injury to both my players and the opponents.

 

Ø      I understand that I as well as my assistant coaches will be held to these coaching guidelines and will be disciplined  for any guidelines that we may fail to uphold, up to and including termination as a  coach  for the Henderson PCMA as decided by the members of the Henderson PCMA board.
