Play
is conducted under the rules of the Official Babe Ruth Baseball Rule |
|
|
Book and the following
overlays & / or clarifications: |
|
|
|
| Games: |
|
- |
No new innings will start after 1
hour & 45 minutes |
|
|
|
|
| Runs per
inning Rule: |
- |
All games will have a five (5) run
per inning rule for innings one (1) through five (5). |
|
|
Does not apply to the
sixth inning. |
|
|
|
|
|
| Slaughter
Rule: |
- |
All
games will have a ten (10) run rule. Games will end when the game
becomes |
|
|
official and either team has a ten
(10) run lead. |
|
|
|
|
| Playing
Time: |
- |
Each player will play a minimum of
dthrree (3) consecutive outs & at least one (1) at bat |
|
|
in each game. |
|
|
- |
There is Free
Substitution |
|
|
- |
Each team must have eight (8)
players to start an official game |
|
|
- |
Players arriving after the game has
started must be added to the bottom of the batting |
|
order. |
|
|
- |
No player may be added to the roster
after the first pitch of the third inning. |
|
|
- |
Should a player, for any reason
other than injury, leave the game & no substitute is |
|
|
available, that player must remain
in the batting order & is recorded as an out each time |
|
|
that at bat occurs. |
|
|
|
|
| Batting: |
|
- |
All players on the roster are
included in the batting order for every game. |
|
|
- |
No bunting is allowed |
|
|
- |
Batter is given five (5) pitches per
at bat or three (3) strikes |
|
|
- |
A batted ball striking the pitching
machine is a dead ball. Batter is awarded first base. |
|
|
- |
Any baserunners will advance one
base if forced by a runner behind them on the bases |
|
- |
If the pitch is unhitable, in
umpires judegment, pitch is declared 'NO PITCH' |
|
|
- |
Machine adjustments may be requested
at the beginning of each teams at bat. |
|
|
- |
If the machine is hit, the umpire
may determine adjustment is necessary to continue |
|
- |
Machine will be set at 38 MPH |
|
|
|
|
| Fielding: |
|
- |
Ten players will be placed on the
playing field. Four (4) in the outfield. |
|
|
- |
Outfielders must play behind the
dirt or clay area of the infield. |
|
|
- |
Pitcher must have one foot on the
seven (7) foot line when the pitch is thrown. |
|
- |
It is a 'NO
PITCH' if pitchers foot is not on line, unless the batter gets a base hit. |
|
- |
If the ball is thrown over the fence
runners advance one (1) base only. |
|
|
- |
Infield Fly rule is NOT in effect |
|
|
- |
Play is stopped when one (1) player
has control of the ball & has stopped the lead runner |
|
|
|
| Sliding: |
|
- |
No head first sliding
will be allowed. Diving back to the base head first is
permittted. |
|
|
|
|
| Throwing
Equipment: |
- |
No throwing of equipment will be
permitted either accidently or intentionally |
|
|
- |
A player, manager or coach, once
warned and repeats the act, will be removed from |
|
the game. |
|
|
- |
A
batter throwing the bat after hitting the ball, will be given a warning.
Should that |
|
batter repeat the act, that batter
will be called out. |
|
|
|
|
| Ejection
from Game: |
- |
Any
manager coach or player ejected from a game, must serve a one (1) game |
|
|
suspension, which would be the next
scheduled game. |
